Enfield 28269: Our client seeks an Insurance Claims Handler for an assignment within its Finance & Corp Resources Division.
We are acting for a N London based local authority
The post will be located in Enfield, EN1 and will be for 35 hpw, Mon-Fri, normal business hours.
This is anticipated to be, initially at least, a 3+ month assignment.
Please note that under a special arrangement we have with a leading umbrella company, temps who elect to get paid under this route will receive, in addition to a higher hourly rate of pay, the following benefits which are not available under PAYE:
• tax benefits and allowances e.g. lunch and commuting costs

• £20 in high street spending vouchers
Essence of role:
1. To investigate, as allocated, insurance claims made by and against the Council and by other customers who the Council arranges cover for, from first notification to personal negotiation of settlement where the claim falls to be met from the Internal Insurance Fund or within non-ranking policy excesses
2. To provide professional advice on liability, insurance cover, risks and claims to internal and external customers
3. To administer all aspects of the Public Sector Leasing insurance scheme
4. To provide support to the Council’s Insurance Manager in the management of the Council’s insurance portfolio (property portfolio over £1.5 billion)
5. To assist in the identification and evaluation of insurable risk
Candidate requirements (*below indicates a requirement that must be CLEARLY EVIDENT FROM YOUR CV, not just your covering letter, to avoid auto-rejection by client):
*Minimum two years experience as a Claims Handler handling liability insurance claims within a UK local authority or other large organisation
*Motor and property experience desirable, but not essential
